Should You Be Flushing Wipes?

“Flushable Wipes” continue to be used more commonly. Baby wipes, cleaning wipes, and pre-moistened towelettes meant for bathroom or cleaning use are seen everywhere! But are they REALLY safe to flush?

The Breakdown:

Wet wipes are seen marked as “flushable” and “septic safe” but should they be used? NO! Though wet wipes do eventually break down, they take a longer time to do so when compared to toilet paper. With the breakdown of wet wipes being less rapid, clogged lines and blockages are more likely to occur. Plainly put, using flushable wet wipes puts your plumbing at risk.
