"Rough-in" refers to the stage of construction after the basic framing is completed but before walls and ceilings are closed up with wallboard. A plumbing rough-in means that all hot and cold water lines as well as drain pipes have been ran and that all pipe connections have been made. At this point no sinks, faucets, or other fixtures are yet installed. At this point, once the rough in phase is completed, we will have an inspector come in and approve the work before the walls are closed up.
